Latex Boots Buying Guide

Latex boots are all the range right now. But before you invest any money in this trend, it would be good to pay some attention to pointers in purchasing and maintaining these shoes.

Latex is man made material and does not occur in nature as others like leather do. If you are environmental conscious, these are perfect. Making latex does not involve any animal skin or even testing.

Latex comes from natural rubber. And so it follows that they are very comfortable to wear in any season and can be maintained easily. Another advantage of them being man made is that since the material is so flexible, they can be tailored according individual needs.
Within the vast range of latex boots, there are different kinds.

1) Thigh high boots: these are very popular right now. An alternative to leather boots, these are far cheaper and available in different colors. Also, they come in both heels and flats. Heels add more glamour to them. Or you could opt for flats for walking, and still look cool. Anyone aiming for a sexy look should go for these. They can be teamed with pencil jeans, with the boots pulled over. They also work well with short skirts and dresses.

2) Ankle boots: these extend just over the ankles. If you want to make a statement of being no-nonsense, try these.

3) Knee High boots: they go lower than thigh boots but just as stylish. They are good with dresses. They can be worn all year round as opposed to thigh boots that are best for winters or rains. Also, these boots make legs appear longer, making them look thinner.

4) Over knee boots: these are really made for working. These can be slipped over street shoes. You can wear these when it is rainy and later take them off.

Whatever kind you choose, you can be sure that they will treat your skin well, and not cause any kind of allergies. Since the material is natural, it is gentle on the skin.

Latex boots are easily available in many stores. These shoes can be ordered online as well and custom made too. It’s a good idea to compare prices and designs before you make a purchase.

After you have made your purchase, caring for them is important too. You need to keep applying shoe cream regularly on them so that they do not crack. Rubber is prone to scuffing. If you do not want your boots to lose their shape, stuff newspapers in them when you are putting them away for while. This will keep their shape intact.
