From Sneakers to Heels, Lily Allen’s Fashion Metamorphosis
Lily Allen burst onto the music scene in 2006 with the release of her first single, Smile, and her debut album, Alight, Still. Not only was she making a name for herself as a talented female musician, but she was also gaining recognition of having a very distinct, bold and daring fashion style.
We all remember the days she paired chunky sneakers instead of a pair of high heels with summery dresses, wore massive hoop earrings and piles of make up. She created the glam chav rock style, and can be accredited for it today. Her style matched her attitude, which was loud, brash and outspoken. Throw in some booze, a thick cut fringe, attack a celebrity and you’ve got the then emerging stars’ characteristics down to a tee.
As Lily has grown though, as a person, celebrity and musician, so has her sense of fashion. From chunky sneakers, bad hair days and a naïve approach to fashion, she has transformed into a woman, but managed to keep her retro, personal style in tact. Now demonstrating “correct” footwear such as a pair of designer high heels with dresses as well as some chic outfits Lily has come a long way with her style.
