Germany

In certain parts of Germany, Christian families still follow an old Christmas tradition. Young children leave their shoes outside the front door. These shoes are filled with carrots and hay to feed the mythical St. Nicholas' horse as he rides by. It is said that if the children were good all year, St. Nicholas leaves apples, nuts, and candy for them!

Mexico

Following a Mexican tradition, children place their shoes by the window, so that the Magic can place the present in the shoe. If the present is bigger than the shoe, it will be placed next to it. Many children get a new pair of shoes for a Christmas present.
